I have a HP tx1000 laptop with windows vista and lately it seems like it is slowly but surely falling apart. My interent went from download speeds of 516kb/s to as slow as dial-up 56kb/s. I can't seem to fix it, the internet company says there is nothing wrong with my connection and to check my laptop. Now when I connect my laptop to the TV all I get is Black and White display, and it doesn't even recognize my HD cables. Can someone please help, I hope my laptop hasn't took a crap on itself. thanks.

Is the machine slow only while on the Internet or if you open my computer then open your C: drive and maybe program files or something like that is it then slow as well?

The internet itself runs slower. Computer not really showing signs of being slow. My download speed is extremely horrible. I download at about 56 kb/s. It will begin at about 150kb/s and within 10 seconds it is all the down. About a month ago it was downloading really fast, now it just creeps along like dial up!

Almost sounds like you might be better off with John over here since your Internet seems to be affected and not the OS.
