Also, did you do a clean install? Home or Pro?

You may want to check the XP tips & tricks sticky. There's a folder listed under there which you need to flush every month or so. It will often speed up as XP rebuilds this folder at the next boot (just don't delete the folder, OK?:bandit: ).
