I just used Nero's cd-rom testing software and got an average of 16x on my DVD-ROM. The DVD-ROM is supposed to be rated at 16x40. Is my drive somehow using the same speed for cd-reading as it is for reading dvd's? How can i change that? It seems pretty pathetic to have an 1.5ghz machine and syill using a 16x cd-rom. Oh and the dvd-rom is made by Acer.
If you're right about this program, can you recommend me one that I CAN use for DVD-ROMS to check cd reading speed?
THanks,
Dave
