Hi, i am trying to install SP2 on my newly repaired (windows repaired) computer, however it freezes installing when i get to "installing processors" (thats not the exact wording).

I have installed it before previously and had no trouble, but now its freezing up

Hi, i would like to make a windows xp installation disk with autostreamer so it includes service pack 2.

However, i do not want to re-install windows, i want to repair it( as i would like to keep all my programs)

so does autostreamer have the ability to repair windows and install sp2 in the process?

thanks

hey, thanks for the reply

The reason i am interested in making a slipstream cd is because SP2 wont intstall normally from its .exe, it hangs at "running processes"

so do you think installing with a slipstreamed sp2 cd is a good option?

thanks

also when i try to slipstream it with autostreamer, it hangs at "copying to temporary folder" and does not continue the creation of the iso needed to slipstream

i cant get sp2 on my machine no matter what i do!

when trying to slipstream with nlite, i get up to the point in where i choose the service pack to use, so i choose the downloaded file you told me to get, and it goes to extract it and does the same thing as before, the window just disappears and it dosnt seem to be recognized on nlite.

ye i agree

the repair was just a simple windows repair

but why would windows sp2 refuse to open let alone pause the installation when at the "running processes stage"

i dont think its hardware related as all my devices seem ok, and i installed sp2 on the system 2 weeks ago with no problems.

it could however be bios related as i cannot start the computer with any mass storage devices plugged in such as a psp ipod nano or external hard drive. the computer does not get passed the motherboards boot screen wen they are plugged in, however, when unplugged, te computer runs normally, and when booted into windows, the devices are recognized and work properly( but not at usb 2.0 speed)
