Removed the slave drive "F" in order to use its slot to clone a new "C" HD using Acronis Easy Migrate. Cloning was successful. Reinstalled the slave into its original slot and though it is recognized in bios and device manager "device is working properly" it does not show up on my computer and cannot be accessed.

As a test, I put the old "C" into the "F" slot and jumpered it as slave. It was instantly recognized in my computer as "F."

Since nothing was done to the "F" in the cloning process--it was only removed from the slot and then later reinserted--I am at a loss.

"F" does vibrate (so its motors are working), and the cable connections are firm and have not changed.

"F" contains files that I cannot afford to lose. This is an XP system.

Any suggestions for getting "F" to be recognized in My Computer?

Welcome to TSF! Does "F" show up in Disk management as a physically present? If so, you should be able to mount it to a drive letter through there.
