Hey party people
I have the SiS 900 ethernet adapter integrated in AsRock K7S41GX motherboard.
The problem:
There is no such option as "Wake from shutdown" in the Device Manger->SiS 900 ethernet adapter properties-> advanced
as described in the following article:
lifehacker.com/348197/ access-your-computer-anytime-and-save-energy-with-wake+on+lan
(yes I have enabled wake on lan in BIOS and "Power On By PCI Devices" setting as instructed in the lifehack article)
What I have done
1. Updated to the latest and proper driver from SiS
No go
2. Googled.
I found some Linux guys mentioning the same problem, someone had made a patch for it - unfortunately I'm running XP and couldn't find a patch for that OS.
What I have not done that might fix it
1. Updated my BIOS
Haven't got a floppy so this is troublesome. Also there is no mentioning of a fix to my problem in the BIOS release notes (asrock.com/mb/download.asp?Model=K7S41GX&s=462) I'll try this as last resort
Also I have a slipstreamed version of XP SP3 (tiny xp 08), however there is no mentioning of they removing this component.
Many thanks in advance.
