Clients computer is calling to the A drive ALL the time...it grinds for about 10 -15 seconds and then goes about its request...any ideas??

Does he have an antivirus program on his machine? If he does try disabling scan removable drives.

This would be the first place I would look................:D

I've seen this happen - it's like there's some kind of cache and it thinks that it needs to renew it's browse list, and it remembers that it got something from A: at some point in the past, so it trys again and takes a while to figure there's nothing there, but it doesn't stop looking there.

I don't know what causes it.

Speed...Good call Ill check it out...running the default setting but who knows what the client did...


and Pseudocyber...thanks for confiring that i am not crazy
