I'm having this problem with a build I just made for a friend of mine the pc when trying to play certain games it either shuts down or reboots...

I don't know if u see it from the .dmp files but the system consists of:

MB: GIGABYTE GA7VM400M
CPU: AMD Sempron 3000+
RAM: 2 Gb
VGA: ATI X1600
PSU: Antec 520
Audio Card: Creative SB Live! CT4832

.dmp and .xml files:

2shared - download Mini012112-02.dmp

2shared - download sysdata.xml

2shared won't download the .dmp file for me.

Please follow the instructions at this post and upload your results here with your next post: http://www.techsupportforum.com/for...ns-for-windows-xp-pro-621393.html#post3566450
Then could you just suggest me another free filesharing site that you know it will work for you?

Because I am writting from my PC now wich is a windows 7 OS; I just copied those 2 files (the .dmp and .xls) on a USB pen from the PC that had the error. I no longer have that PC at my house and the user that now has it, doesn't have internet...and lives at about 20 miles from my home. So if you could just help me out on this one without extra procedures I would really appreciate it.

The only one that I know of/use is https://skydrive.live.com
Not the easiest, but it's free!

But there's several points that I've gotta make:
- XP BSOD's are much more difficult to solve than Vista or Win7 BSOD's
- There aren't that many of us who will work on them (XP memory dumps)
- The extra info is needed to help rule out other issues.
- The extra info will most likely include more minidumps - and that is the biggest help when working on XP systems.

Good luck!

This week I am gonna get to this guys house and do some tests and "collect" a few more minidumps and also install the BSOD_XP_v1.3_jcgriff2_PROD.exe http://sysnative.com/0x8/BSOD_XP_v1.3_jcgriff2_PROD_.exeapp and turn back with hopefully enough data for you guys. Unfortunately it's all I can do... Thank you.

Got it! Thanks!

It blames ati3duag.dll - a video driver for your ATI video card.
I'd have to think that there's an issue here with the ATI drivers.
But web research tends to question this - so I've gotta wonder if this is the old CCC (Catalyst Control Center) issue. If it is, then removing CCC will stop the BSOD's

So:
- download a fresh copy of the Drivers Only from the ATI website: ATI Catalyst (it's the WDM Integrated Driver at the bottom of the page).
- uninstall all ATI stuff from the system. First from Control Panel...Add/Remove Programs, then from Device Manager (right click on the device and select "Uninstall") If it asks you about removing the driver software, select the checkbox to remove it.
- Install the freshly downloaded drivers
- monitor for further BSOD's

System is significantly underclocked. Is there a reason for this?
CPUID: "AMD Athlon(tm) XP 3000+"
MaxSpeed: 2333
CurrentSpeed: 2156
This is XP, so the drivers will (in general) be older than those for Vista/Win7:
3RD PARTY DRIVERS PRESENT IN THE DUMP FILES
- Create a System Restore Point prior to doing any of this. DO NOT mess with the drivers themselves - leave the Windows\System32\drivers directory alone unless we specifically direct you to it!
- Please either update the older drivers from the device manufacturer's website - or uninstall them from your system. Reference links are included below.
- DO NOT use Windows Update or the Update Drivers function of Device Manager.
- Please feel free to post back about any drivers that you are having difficulty locating.
- Windows Update exceptions may be noted below for Windows drivers.

 Holly ****...

First of all THANKS A MILLION!:bow::bow:

Ok so let me see if got this:

First create restore point before doing anything, got it! I always procede this way as well.

The ati CCC issue is familiar to me since I have bumped ferw years ago into users around tech forums that claimed for some reason to just not install the Catalyst. I for one, have never listened, since when i had my 4850 I had no ati driver problems what so ever. There's always that first time obviuosly, and apparently this looks like it

About the cpu being "significantly underclocked". Are you sure?

I don't remember the exact CPU clock, nor I have mangled with the clocks inside bios. But how is it underclocked if according to wiki the Barton socket A sempron 3000+ runs at 2000MHz (link)? "CurrentSpeed: 2156" ...looks OC to me

About that list of drivers...I'm not sure I understood well, are you saying the drivers highlighted in red are the ones giving problems? So only those drivers, or parts of those drivers, I should try updating right?

Waiting for your reply...and again thanks a lot for your fast responses. :thumb:

All I look at (for the CPU) is:
CPUID: "AMD Athlon(tm) XP 3000+"
MaxSpeed: 2333
CurrentSpeed: 2156
2156 is less than 2333 - so, to me, that's an underclock
I don't do much with CPU's, so my "figuring" might be off

As for the list of drivers - they are merely the one's that were present in the memory dumps - not that they are causing problems. As for the RED, that's done by the sorting program - and it just highlights anything in RED that's from 2007 or earlier.

We recommend that anything that old be updated as a matter of course (but our primary emphasis is on Win7) - but remember, this is XP and a lot of the drivers won't have more recent versions.

What you do is you look at the link for those drivers (it's to my Driver Reference table)
At the Driver Reference table will be info that will help you to locate the proper software to update the device or program that that driver belongs to.
