Hi,
I have started having new problems with XP.
1) When I shutdown, I click on the start menu's "turn off computer" button then again when it and restart and another option, cancel, if i recall correctly are displayed. Nothing happens the startup screeen just sits and waits on me and the 3 buttons have disappeared. When I repeat the process it then shuts down. Why am I doing this twice? How do I fix it?

2) When my Hauppauge tv 2000 runs, especially in the initial screen, it freezes the video after a few minutes. If I switch to the larger image or full size tv image this does not seem to happen as often. How do I fix this to prevent it happening?

3) I have www.google.com set as my default home page BUT when I first bring up IE I get a Microsoft specified window. How can I force XP to recognize that I have assigned google as my home page as default?

Hi geosman in regards to problem 1 go to the following

http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm
Line 267 Restore "Turn Off and Log Off" - Start Menu

Sorry I can't help you out on problem 2 maybe if you post it in Video Card Support Forum someone will be able to help.

Finally regarding problem 3, try this, click on Tools>Internet Options, where it says Home Page type on separate line www.google.com. This creates home page tabs. I hope this is what you're looking for, you can always delete it if it's not.

Good Luck!!
