Im trying to move a database from work, so that i can work on it at home... It is 1.62 mb when i put it in a .zip or a .rar file, and will not fit onto a floppy disk... I have no internet connection there, and have no other way of getting it home. It is a single file, so i cant split it and put it onto 2 separate disks... I just need to shrink it the slightest (about .3 mb) more to fit it on a floppy, can someone PLEASE HELP!

The original file size is about 4 megs, but it needs to be less than 1.4.

I have never used 7z. The compression ratio changes on different files, it may compress 1 file up to 1/3 and compress another 1 up to 1/4, it depends how much "free" space is in the file. Don't get me wrong maybe 7z can do the job but I'll stick with a program that I know works and that is reliable. Check image below. Let's say you have 20 meg files you need to fit on a floppy, after it is compressed it is still too big at 10 megs, what this program will do is split the 10megs into 1.4megs each so that they can all fit on multiple floppies.
