Shredding Files

I am legally blind. I have a Windows XP computer with the A T & T Yahoo! Norton Security Suite. I read the instructions. I went to Navigation then tools and Shredder. There is supposed to be a Shred option. I do not see it. I click on the Shred link. It takes me to another small window with Quick Clean, Defragmenter, 1 other option, and Shredder Options but no shred option. What do I do? Also, does the newest version allow removal and Shredding of old restore points?
