i would say...

well, as i heard in a good story once (a joke story).....

....if youre warm and happy in a pile of crap, keep your mouth shut.

lol

or as i would explain it to my family, if 98 does all the things you need your pc to do, i would never switch to XP.

simple way to remember it (XP = Xtra Problems)

there is a few machines here at this house, not all of them new, but even the newest one is running 98.

it is simply good enough to do what we want, and i have seen faster speeds with 98.

the AMD 2000 processor, even thought it was made for xp, runs 98 much much faster... especially with 512 megs of ram

and the AMD 900 processor, runs 98 really fast also, and it ran xp like crap.

and the AMD 450 is running it just fine, and i wont change that, cos that machine is mine, :)

and the Gateway 200 and the intel 266 are both doing fine with 98 also, and so are 5 or 6 other machines i have put together.

and 3 of the people i built machines for later went to xp, and then begged me to put 98 back for them....

still to this day i havent found anything i cared about that 98 wont run, even if i have to add some DLL files.

so it's a matter of opinion which is best.
