In Windows 98, I was able to access my folder shortcuts in all open & save dialog boxes, no matter what program I was using. In XP, the shortcuts are all hidden. For instance, in the My Documents folder I had a shortcut to my D:\ drive (2nd hard drive where most of my files are stored) and it was accessible in Win98 whenever I viewed My Documents in an open/save dialog box so I could get to it quickly. In XP, no shortcuts are displayed in these dialog boxes.
Is there a way around this?

Thanks for your reply HWM.
Tried that, but it just lists the file types native to that particular program. In certain programs there's an All Files *.* listing. Choosing that shows the shortcuts, but clicking one of them results in an "invalid filetype" message since the program then tries to open the shortcut as a document. This never happened in Windows 98. All shortcuts were visible and functional as such in all open/save dialogs and my apps knew the difference between a shortcut and an actual document.
