I have several problems that I think might be all related.

1. The "open with" window open for every application I try to open U.
2. My volume control has stopped working.
3. I have lost the entire tool bar at the top of the page.

As I said, I think they all might be related. Can you help!

1. Not sure what your problem actually is!

2. Do you mean on the software or on your speakers?

3. If you mean the toolbar on the net at the top, then hit F11.

You need to give a better description of the faults, they're a little vague.

What I am trying to say is that: Every time I try to open anything. Any application any program, it always brings up the "open with" window. Rarely is there a program associasted with the application I am trying to open. (I am using Google, just as an aside). The volume control in the task bar will not respond. It will not bring up it slider and mute. I no longer have any toolbar or access to one. The F11 trick dosen't work. It changes the perspective but the toolbar in not visable in either. In addidtion I have just noticed that down at the taskbar lvel where you see th etabs that give you an indication of what you have open, the tan appear, but they are blank. The only thing that is in them is a small Explorer graphic. Is all this more helpful. I can't copy this and spread it around because I have no toolbar. If you can spread it around I would appreciate it. I really need to get this computer back up. I'm usung it in a work search. Need work.

Did these problems all appear at the same time?

If they did, what did you do just before, install a new app? driver? use a reg cleaner?

An option you have is system restore. Choose a time when everything was fine and dandy and restore to that.

Thank you for responding. Yes all of these problems do exist at the same time. I did run a registry cleaner as part of my Fix-It Utilities program not long before this problem showed up. I can't get the system restore function to work because even that produces the "Open With" dialog.
Thanks again

ok, were not at a loss yet.

boot up in safe mode (tap f8 while pc boots)

then try system restore.

or if it still won't open try the command prompt to get to system restore
