Good morning/ evening

I have a problem with my Vista Ultimate SP1 (in new PC)

when I try to install a software, the setup stop and a message appear says " Setup stopped working"

even when installing updates from Microsoft website, the same message appear ,

what is the cause of the problem and how to solve it,,

I hope i can find the soln. in this forum ,, :smile:

Just out of curiosity, are you running each setup as administrator or are you just running them as a regular/limited user ?

it also dose not work, i tried it before <

also i disable the firewall, and stop working of windows defender
and the problem still there

Hi, what Anti Virus program have you installed and did this just start to happen maybe after a update?

this start just after installing the OS

so I was not having anti virus, but yesterday i installed Kasper sky 2009 (after few tries)

Hi, best advice I can give you now is to start again and reinstall the OS , is this a fresh install or an upgrade, did you format the HDD?

it is a new PC, so i did not format the HDD

is it important to format the HDD even it is new?

and how to do that ?

Hi, did you get a copy of the Vista DVD with your new computer,I am guessing you did not install the OS yourself. If you have a copy it might be best if you talk to the people you bought it from they may do it for you.

actually its a copy version of vista "not original"
