He's wanting pretty much everything I have installed on my computer... could I just swap out my slave drive with his HD and do a copy and paste? Sure seems like it would save a lot of time... :4-dontkno

No. If we are talking about an OS and programs installed copy paste will never ever work.

I would recommend to take your time and install the softwares one by one :)

lol... the only program on my computer that cost anything is XP... I firmly believe in the value of freeware!!! Plus, he's already got his own copy of XP... I was just trying to save some download time since I already had both PCs torn apart on my floor... but anyway, it's done... I spent a good chunk of my day downloading and configuring his programs... and buying a Windows for Dummies book for him... :rolleyes:

well, if they were identical machines, you could use ghost or another similar utility to clone the hard disk, and then use jellybean to change his key to the one on his windows xp cd.

but, aside from that, without them being identical machines, there will be some serious issues.
