This shows up on the computor screen before I log on, and it will not go away. It's a oblong block that says The application failed to initialize properly(0xc0000005). Click to terminate the application. When I click ok to get rid of it, It comes back. Who do I need to get to help me. Thanks

Compromised machine

I have a really sketchy feeling that your system has been compromised (read as "hacked") I would seriously consider perhaps visiting http://housecall.antivirus.com although I don't think the serv-u hack is fixable by anything other then a flatline and reinstall of the OS, however you could put up a firewall and atleast keep people from leeching your bandwidth and tagging your machine. And also check out http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com and patch your machine :upset: It absolutely sucks when people get bugs/virii/worms :(

Hello Linda welcome to the forums !!!
what you might have there is a access violation error. What might be happening is that the system is trying to load an application into the memory space that is protected for use by something else.

OR
It might be that for some reason your OS is trying to bring up same application up but its already loaded and there is not enough memory to start the same application over again....have applied any service packs recently ? I've looked up this error on Microsofts website and they're saying that it might be due to registry key settings and they have a script to run to remove the registry key you can download it here
