I was using a software called "PC Security" which is used to lock folders on my PC. Now I installed "GREATIS Aoftware UnhackMe" which detects and remove invisible Trojans (Rootkits). UnhackMe detected PC Security as a Trojan and deleted some files .. maybe a dll.. Now PC Security doesn't open and I keep on getting this error (see the pic below) from the point I start my PC till I shut it down.

When I send the error, this error again comes, when I click on Don't send, again the error appears.. There is no escape !! I m unable to uninstall PC Security from add/remove programs coz its asking me to open d software and click on uninstall option from admin control panel of the software (due to password restrictions).

Please help me, what should I do? I want to get rid of this error and PC Security!

The error message concerns "PC Security" which has become corrupted.

First of all turn off "Error Reporting" till we get the problem fixed

Now you will not get that box popping up

If you cannot uninstall "PC Security" from Add/Remove Ptrgrams in the Control Panel try uninstalling it with Revo Uninstaller which is a free program. Be careful not to uninstall any other program.

When the problem is fixed if you wish you can turn Error Reporting back on again

Maybe you should get rid of "GREATIS Aoftware UnhackMe" too :smile:

An afterthought. If you have locked folders with "PC Security" you will probably need it to unlock them again or they might not be accessible. You might have to reinstall it to unlock these folders before finally getting rid of it

Hey thanks Dunedin.. My prob. is solved.. ! I've uninstalled PC Security and reinstalled it and I have added PC Security related issues in ignore list of "GREATIS Software UnhackMe".. Y do u suggest me to get rid of "GREATIS Software UnhackMe"?.. Do you also suggest me to get rid of PC Security?

I actually found "GREATIS Software UnhackMe" useful.. can u suggest me any other trusted similar software instead of this.. thnx

I suggested you got rid of "GREATIS Software UnhackMe" because it wrongly detected and disabled a legitimate program (PC Security)
You have added PC Security to the ignore list so it should be safe now, but I wonder when it will do the same to another legit program?

I have never heard of "GREATIS Software UnhackMe", but a quick search tells me it is to protect against rootkits. I think there will be very few of us running a program like that. We mosly just have our antivirus/antispyware programs with a good firewall.

I personally would never use a program like PC Security which allows you to lock files. I have spent so many many hours in the forums trying to help people who could not access their valuable data because programs like that did not behave properly.

If you find these programs useful, then that is fine.
Just be sure to "unlock" any files before uninstalling any of them.

Thanks Dunedin.. "GREATIS Software UnhackMe" helped me in removing a file (and many more like these) which was located at "C:\Documents and Settings\*******\Local Settings\Temp\b.exe". This "b.exe" is a trojan which I was sometimes able to see in my task manager but my antivirus/antimalware was not able to remove it.. My PC became slow due to these trojans.. So I found it useful.. But I'll be careful next time around.. Thanks again
