Hi guys

I am just trying to share a folder, but I only want to use the in-coming computer name in the permissions tab and security tab. I do not want to use an active directory account.

Basically I want "Computer A" to be able to full control a folder on "Computer B" using computer A credentials only, regardless of what account Computer A might be signed in with.

Is this possible?

I have tried adding "Computer A" into the permissions/security tabs looking it up through the AD, it adds the computer as "ad\computerA$". But everything still fails...

Hi,

there is a workaround that may help,

You could try adding the computer account computerA$ into the local users group on computerB then on the Security permissions Tab on the shared folder add ComputerB\users with full control. just make sure your share permissions are also set,
