Can the 16 bit HD in an IBM Aptiva be converted to 32 bit and installed as secondary drive in IBM Netvista? I would like to do this to avoid having to move files/data to new HD. By the way, the old drive is partitioned into C:, D:, E: if it makes any difference.

Uhhhh...... do you mean 16 gig?

What is the storage capacity (hd) and what era is your Aptiva from?
(processor speed and OS would be good clues)

No he is referring to the file format.. ie FAT32 as opposed to FAT16. I believe FAT 16 had a 2 gig max. I'm not sure if you can convert in the new OS's but I destinctly remember Win 98 had a program just for converting to FAT32.. I'm not sure what to do if you need NTFS. Hope this helps :)
