Hey,

I just bought a second HDD to put into my computer. It's an 80 GB one.

I am going to be using this HDD for data stroage (movies, music, etc....). No software or OS related files will be on this HDD.

All paritions need to be made in NTFS for winxp.

I was wondering if it's better to partition the new hdd into smaller partitions or leave it as one big partition>???
Would making one large partition slow down file access on the HDD?????
Also, iwhat cluster size should i make any of the partitions??? Large files will be on the HDD, around 500MB to 1.2 GB????

Thanks for your help.

If this is the only computer that the drive is going to be held in a and you're gonna use the whole drive for just data than there's no problem in just leaving the whole drive as one big partition. And it will be faster cuz u dont have partial platters for one partition and another. You can partition them if you want to seperate movies from music and the such.
