Hello there.
Yesterday afternoon my external hdd started to beep, so I unplugged it thinking it was just over heating. I came back to it an hour later, plugged it in and the Hdd started to beep again and my computer wouldn't recognise it!

Today I took it to the technician at my college who tried extracting the data but couldn't as a message came up saying corrupt partition. It also said that my hdd was a 2TB one, when infact it is only a 500gb.

I tried plugging it in when I got home, the beeping continued, and my computer still wouldn't register that it was plugged in. Then the beeping stopped and my computer started to look for downloadable software for the hdd, 5 minutes later it said it had found it and the device was ready to use, but it hasn't created a drive for me to access any of my files.

I need to retrieve all the data from it, as it has all my A level work on there! It is the only copy of the work I have because I am an idiot and didn't make back ups! Help please!
