Hello everybody,
i've got a problem. I need the data from a scsi hard disk.
This hard disk has a rich history, but to put it shortly, it worked on another computer and had windows installed on it, but i had many times to reinstall it, because always bad sectors occured, which damaged some windows file.
now i've got this scsi harddisk installed on another computer, which already has an ide harddisk (with the scsi-controller, of course) , but the windows explorer won't open it, a message appears with the question if i want to format it, which of course i do not want.
So, how can i obtain the data??

Welcome to TSF:

a few questions

1) what operating system was on the machine the scsi drive came from

2) what operating system is on the computer you are tryijng to install it too now ????

3) is the scsi controller properly recognised in the new computer ????

4) look in the scsi controller bios (hit CTRL-A) to be sure the scsi drive does NOT have boot orders ????

does the drive get recognised by the scsi contoller bios during boot-up ????

regards
joe
