Hi guys this is my first time on this website and i need help. I have an hp pavillion dv6 and sometimes when close my screen for a little bit and come back, when i open it the screen will not turn back on. but i can hear the computer running, The only way i can get it to work again is by rebooting my laptop. :angry:

Have you recently updated your display drivers on your manufacturers website?

When it happens shine a light into the screen and see if you can see an image

no but i dont actually know how.... im not that well with finding the updates for my computer... thank you for the quick reply

There are some numbers that define this particular model that are missing from your description. HP Pavilion DV6-xxxx.
To update your drivers go to the HP Drivers site, HP Support & Drivers | United States
type in your exact model # and download the video/display driver for your model.

when i put a flash light into the screen i see nothing

Hp dv6000 has video chip that comes loose from the motherboard .It will stop booting at all They say you can send board to have it reflowed .It is a heat problem.I have one same thing.
