Hi! So, I'm kind of technology illiterate. My laptop screen started going black with a white line as pictured and flickers. At first it only happened during zoom so I thought it was because of zoom but today it started doing it while i was working on some word documents and had the browser on as well.
If anyone could tell me what the issue could be as it is still in warranty but i need it and would like to fix it myself if possible. Thanks you

If anyone other than HP digs in to the laptop to attempt fix it, you will immediately void your HP warranty.

Yes, if it's still under warranty, then take it back and ask for a replacement. It may not be convenient, but it is definitely your best option.

It looks like it could be the screen or the display cable, I would start there.

However, if you have a warranty, I would use it.

Plug an external monitor into the laptop, if it happens on that, then the video chip that is soldered onto the motherboard has gone bad and needs to be replaced. If it doesn't happen on the external monitor, then it is the LCD screen that needs to be replaced. Either way, send it back to HP under warranty and they will fix it for free.
