Hi....
My first post!
My HP Pavilion PC, about one year old, has often been known to go to a blank screen or to vertical lines.....
Has recently been much worse to do so........Will go to colored, vertical lines or lose whatever is on the screen......
Have to power down and bring back up.......
Did a PF10 RESTORE without any help.....
I know little "PC" but not an awful lot!!

do you have an actual video card or an onboard video chip

I believe it is an on board chip......
I only see one pluggged in card....Modem........

I can't see any voltage readings....Perhaps I don't know how to do readings?

I see a lot of monitor data but nothing that looks like voltage......
I may not be PC savvy enough to get the needed info......
Where do you think the problem is?

Try sensorsview, the voltages should be right in the main window.

If that doesn't work, then try Everest or PC Wizard.

try reinstalling the drivers,but it sounds like the chip is the problem and you may have to put a card in
the temps and voltages are fine

Can I just buy a video card and install it in an open slot?

check what type of slot you have available before buying and that you have enough power to run the card
