Start off, my video card is Radeon 9550.
Okay, so I log onto my computer, everything is fine. MSN works okay, Firefox with a few tabs all running fine. Then I fell like playing a game, World of Warcraft most likely, so I load it up. The World of Warcraft login in screen comes up fine...then usually within a few seconds the screen turns off. Not really black screen, the monitor button which is usually blue is now yellow, a yellow button normally occurs when its in sleep mode. After this happens I can still hear the music playing for a good 30 seconds...then sometimes it keeps going, somtimes it also stops. Occasionally the screen will also die if I pull up to many browsers at once.
It happens whenever I play any game, World of Warcraft, FFXI, Counter strike. Its all the same.
It doesn't happen when I watch movies though. It runs them smooth, no graphical imperfection, just as they were meant to be.
Has anyone discovered this problem?
Another thing, the radeon 9550 is the second video. Unable to remember the name of the first one, but while the first one is installed the screen will blank out during the welcome screen, almost instantly. So I figured the video was blown so I bought a new one. This one gets alot further, but still dies whenever I try to run something big. Motherboard problem maybe? Not a clue, im not good with hardware, thats why Im asking for your help
.
Thanks for any help at all...this has been going on for a long time and I really need it fixed asap...the expansion for World of Warcraft is coming out pretty soon and Id like to be fulling up and running by then
.
some system specs off the top of my head that might be needed:
-windows xp
-hp pavilion a500 computer
-1 gig ram. Started as 512, but bought another ram stick with the second video card.
-AMD 2800+
-2.8 ghz.
hope someone can help. Thanks again.

with almost the same problem. mine doesnt give the no signal error, and it was happening with my old video card as well, not just the 9550.
