Seeing a frequent number of BSOD's recently, but they aren't exactly blue screens. Sometimes the screen will get all artifacty (can see windows behind the colors/rainbow that is going on), but cannot interact with them. Sometimes PC will restart itself or other times it needs to be hard shut down. Every time upon restart I get a "Computer Recovered from Serious Error". Error upon restart (via Event Viewer) is Kernel-Power 41 (Task: 63). All requested files are attached in ZIP file.

· System Built 3+ Years Ago
· OS is 1.5 Years Old (No Re-Install)

Hi,

Your graphics driver atikmdag.sys is blamed for most of your BSODs.

It could do with an update:

See if you can find an update - AMD Graphics Drivers & Software

If updating the driver doesn't work, chances are we have a graphics hardware issue.

This has only been happening recently (past two weeks) and I have had the same video card since the beginning of the build. I wonder if the video card could be going bad or if a Windows Update messed something up.

The only thing I can find on the page is this link: ATI Catalyst

Their site states this:

AMD has moved a number of DX9 ATI Radeon™ graphics accelerators products to a legacy driver support structure. This change impacts Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Linux distributions. AMD has moved to a legacy software support structure for these graphics accelerator products in an effort to better focus development resources on future products.

Is the driver I posted above going to update the atikmdag.sys file on my system or is it possibly time for a new video card?

Yes. You can download the driver at the bottom. It should update atikmdag.sys to a newer version. Your video card is old though and is not supported in Windows 7. If after updating the video card driver you continue to still have issues with it, then it might be time to get a new card.

I also noticed that your not running SP1. It wouldn't hurt to install it.
