I am running XP SP2 . I have two administrative user accounts and two limited user accounts. At themoment one of the admin accounts is failing to complete the logon process. The process seems to hang about half way through logging on. The other three accounts are functioning normally. I have tried using the system restore tool but this is not allowing me to restore to an earlier date. Has anyone gort any ideas about what might have gone wrong and, more importantly, how to restore the user account?

Many thanks for your prompt reply - I expected to have to wait for a long time before someone picked up my plea for help.

Can I be very cheeky and ask another, unrelated question? A friend of mine recently changed her file system from FAT 32 to NTFS in order to stop her two teenagers for accessing each others' files - a source of much friction in the household!. (She is also using XP SP2.) Since the conversion, her son has been unable to use his on-line gaming applications - although one of them still works if he is given supervisor privileges which is not an ideal solution. My initial thoughts on this are that this has arisen because his 'My Documents' folder has been made private and that the gaming sites need to access one or more of his personal folders. Is this likely to be the problem? Or am I barking up the wrong tree (or even just barking mad!)

Some older applications cannot work with NTFS. I think you may be correct on assuming this is the issue.
