I almost always make use of my scanner via "Import" with Photoshop CS3. I have not encountered a problem until now, and for no apparent reason. I do, rarely scan directly from the scanner program as well. Scanner is Microtek ScanMaker i900. I'm running Vista Home Premium 64 bit. Attached are the results of different actions. First is from the scanner's own test, second is what I get when I try to "Import", third is what I get when trying to use the scanner directly. Any ideas? thanks.

The ScanMaker i900 is not compatible (ie there is no compatible driver) with Windows Vista 64-bit. See this: Downloads : Microtek Lab

You will see under "Notes": Operating Systems that are not listed above are not supported with the ScanMaker i900.

I have been using it for well over a year without issues until recently.

Uninstall the software/drivers using Add and Remove programs, reboot, and reinstall.
