Scan disk has not been able to complete in preparation for
a defrag session.

About 3/4 way through the disk activity look slike it hits
a skip in a phonograph record: short blinks-- no progress.

Reboot into Safe Mode (By repeatedly tapping the F8 key until the menu appears) and then run the scans
