SBLive - only one channel

2822 Views 4 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Laffctx
I put together a new system and was using the built in sound card for a while, and put in my friend's SBLive. The sound output on the built in sound was only in one channel, and when i installed the new card it too had the exact same problem! I made sure to even check which device to use for sound in the BIOS and everything software wise appears that the audio is working fine, but any audio that comes out is always only one side. please help.

Sounds like the mini plug or cord may be damaged. have you checked that?
Ive tried several different cords, same problem on either sound output. brand new cords, and checked it on 3 different speakers (even ran the line into my TV and Stereo, still one channel. I know for a fact the soundcard works fine, it was previously in another system. My motherboard is a KS75a
Have you checked all the settings in Windows to make sure one channel is not turned down or off? How about drivers, are they the most recent? Silly questions but we need to know.
Which OS are you running? If it is XP then you will have to download the XP driver for SBLive. That was what my friend had to do when he installed XP and he has SBLive. And, it cured the problem right away.

Good luck,
