Says "Not Connected" when I am...plus doesn't stay "connected" for long

I recently developed this issue--my wireless router is within range, but my computer doesn't say that I'm connected, it says "wireless connection unavailable"...when in fact I am connected...though it's only brief...at most ten minutes, at which point it severs the connection. PLEASE HELP!

First I ran devmgmt.msc

1. network adapters listed:
-1394 Net adapter #3
-802.11g MiniPCI Wireless Network Adapter
-MAC Bridge Miniport
-SiS 900-Based PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter

2. all of them have red x’s except for the 802.11g

3. no devices have yellow ! or ? displayed

Then I ran CMD

Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600]
(C) Copyright 1985-2001 Microsoft Corp.

C:\Documents and Settings\customer>ipconfig /all

Windows IP Configuration

Try changing the channel on the wireless router, that's the first step here.

Re: Says "Not Connected" when I am...plus doesn't stay "connected" for long

I changed the channel. For the next few minutes, my connection was viable, but still displayed the "not connected" message. I attempted to repair the connection, and it said "acquiring network address" and allowed my to connect. I was soon kicked off. I am miffed...
