I totally apologize if this is a seemingly naive question for most folks but I have to give a major PowerPoint presentation to several hundred people and I need to save the detailed presentation on a disk, fly to the meeting, load up the presentation and then give it.

My simple question is this ... can I save the presentation on a DVD-R or should I use a CD. What is the difference in the medium?

Thanks ever so much for helping someone in desperate need!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the biggest difference, besides of course the format, is that a CD holds ~700MB of data whereas a DVD holds ~4GB...if your files will fit on a single CD then there is no great reason to use a DVD, assuming I am correct in the thought that all you are doing is storing files to load up in Office as opposed to a media show...and a CD might be better in that it is always possible that the computer you will be using might not have a DVD drive
