You can buy an adapter to slave it in a desktop system or you can get an external USB enclosure to house the drive.
Saving laptop hard drive
I recently had my laptop repaired, and the CPU and System Board had to be replaced. I asked that my computer not be formatted because I didn't want to lose everything on my hard drive. Is there a way for me to remove my hard drive from my hp zv5000 laptop and hook it up to another computer? I was thinking that I could temporarily connect my c drive to another computer so that I could download what information I wanted. Then, I could reinstall the hard drive in my laptop, reformat my computer, and retransfer the files. How can I do this?
