sata hdd possibly corrupted... uugghhh

I was reinstalling Windows Xp Pro Sp1 on the same partition it had previously been on.. I had formatted said partition. XP booted fine the first time.. then system crashed during via 4in1 driver install. Can't boot, even in safe mode.. can't use install disk to reformat partition either. I suspect partition info may be damaged. I do however get "isapnp.sys missing/corrupted..." error message when i try to boot in safe mode. I get the bsod on attempts at usingthe install dick to redo.. Anyone know of a way to fix this? Is there any bootable software which can fix/reformat a single partition without damaging the others... Thank You

I've attempted to delete it.. I was unable to with any windows software I new of, so I've used a mandrake disk to delee the partition. unfortunately, when I attempt to install windows, I get the BSOD.. registry error. The onyl options I can think of are a complete "low level" format of the hdd where I lose my data.. or slaving and copying.. both present some problems. I can't explain a registry error from an installation disk, I can't proceed to a point where I can make any changes. Thank you for your help.
