I have tried to instal the SCSI drivers from intel as well as from the Gigabyte site (they are the same), but I still get the 0x7B BSoD.

Ok, I am a noob!

Yes this is the first time I am setting up a SATA machine so i made what seem to be noob mistakes.

I was trying to install the ICH8R drivers when the board required the ICH6R Drivers.

The manual had that in small print so I just looked over it.

Here is where my noobness comes into play, I assumed that if I got the drivers from the motherboard manufacturer then they will contain only the driver necicary for that board. Second durring the install processs only 4 options showed up and there was no indication that I could scroll down for more, especially when that box could have been bigger to show more options (it only took like 20% of the screen).

But I will now know for future reference just scroll down till you get to the right driver version!
