I just bought this card with my new system, and I am having trouble installing the drivers.

I originaly installed them on the system before, and it worked great. The ati logo was in my system tray, and it allowed my to change all my settings, but then I had to repair some corrupt files in XP. Now when moving a browser window around, or scrolling, it is extremly choppy, just like when I originaly set this system up. (actually I had some friends set this up for my cuz I don't realy know what I'm doing)

When I install the drivers from the included disk, or get the drivers from the ATI site, I get the following error.

"Setup was unable to complete the installation. Try to setup your display adapter with a standard driver before running setup."

The disk includes:
RADEON DISPLAY DRIVERS
HYDRAVISION
ATI CONTROL PANNEL
MULTI MEDIA DRIVERS
MULTI MEDIA CENTER.

I have removed all of the drivers for this card using Driver Cleaner but this doesn't help. I still get the same error.

Please help!

I'm not sure if it makes a difference but you might delete the download files as well as use Disk Cleaner...then download again.

I know if you have partial installation/ downloads you get similar messages.
