I'm got this one sitting here at the house, and its not the best, but it's better than the one thats currently in my computer, a geforce4 mx 440 64mb. It says a 350-watt PSU or greater is recommended. I have a 350w psu, but do you think I should get a bigger one?

The bare minimum to run that card would be a 400 to a 450 watt power supply with a minimum of 26 amps on the +12 rail. The recommended power would be a 550 power supply for optimal operation. What is the brand name of your present supply?

check ebay, look up an antec 430W or 450W... usually have two rails with 16A each. should do fine. can get one around 10-20 bucks.

One thing I've learned about electronics, 600w is 600w all around the board. I looked up my current PSU and it is a ATX, and I also looked up the new one, both ATX, so i'm guessing it'll work.

Sorry but 600w is not simply 600w. When you buy a junk power supply it's efficiency is normally 60 to 70%. Which means a 600w is actually producing 360 to 420 watts. They can legally put 600w because IF the power supply ran at 100% efficiency it would produce 600w. You also have to consider the amperage , the junk units will not produce enough amps to power the gpu properly. That combined with cheap parts , bad design , and bad cooling causes the power supply to wear out quickly when stressed.

Not only that but that corsair 400 is only 50$ which means the only reason you wouldn't get it is if the 600w your looking at is cheaper which is an obvious sign to it's low quality. Theres a reason some 600 watt power supplies cost over 100$ , it's because they are good units.

For your own good, don't buy some low quality supply and please heed the advice that my team mate emosun has given to you.
