When I try to open MS word, access, excel, PPoint etc I get the following error message window:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
Program: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\WINWORD.EXE
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the applications support team for more information.

for excel: its the same message but the program file is
Program: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\EXCEL.EXE

for access: its the same message but the program file is
Program: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\MSACCESS.EXE

I've read similar messages already posted on this site, but I'd have to request you start from the beginning with me.
Just in case its relevant, i pretty sure i do not have a google toolbar installed.

any help will be very much appreciated.
Thank you

Hi and welcome to TSF.

According to this MS article you only get this error message if you are running a custom C++ programme. :smile:

If not I would insert the Office CD and try a repair first.

i've tried repairing/reinstalling office, but this has not worked.
i have no idea what a C++ programme is, so don't think/know if any are running.
