running multiple POS docket printers

Ok so I have a (docket) printer setup on the serial 2 port on one of 14 machines on a server, the software I have running is setup to only print to one printer at a time, so currently if I want to print to another docket printer I have to go onto the server and tell it to use another client as the printer. What I'm trying to work out is if I have a second printer BUT I can only print from one machine at a time, how can I run a second printer from a second machine that I can switch over to quickly WITHOUT having to manually set the printer up on a new machine (when the original machine that's running the printer is down)?
