Hi guys.
Please excuse my ignorance. I'm new to this forum, and im not a computer expert in anyway possible.
The problem with my computer (only a cople of weeks old) started happening a few days ago. It started playing up and i started recieving pop us every few minutes and also an alert saying my windows security has been turned off and when i tried to turn it on i wasnt allowed (i had AVG Free antivirus at the time) I did a scan with the avg and nothing came up except a few cookies. I decided to uninstall it and install the Norton. I did another scan and it still came up with nothing although it was still behaving a little crazy.
The next day i turned the computer on and it said that there was an inital.exe error (could have been something like initalstartup.exe) and then it logged into a blank screen saver, no icons, start menu or toolbars. i pressed ctr+alt+del and ran a new task or Explorer.exe. That got everything back however when i try to go into anything in the control (among other things) panel i recieve a rundll32.exe - aplication error.
Since this i have had to run explorer.exe everyday through the task manager to access my icons, everytime i turn the computer off it starts again with nothing but a blank page.
Im assuming i have a virus. When i did a Norton scan it was spending a VERY long time scanning my Documents and settings and i noticed hunderds of files that are not mine, including what looks like porn videos, music and dvd video. There were literally hundreds of files. And most of them have very worrying names. When i go into my documents and settings they are not there anywhere even when i displayed all hidden files and folders.
Please help me, any advice is very much appreciated
