hi people
i am working on fedora core2..am facing a wierd problem with the rpm command...i installed a package on the system n then wanted to uninstall it....for that instead of using rpm again i deleted all the files from the system ...then i downloaded the package again n tried installing with rpm but got a message saying its already installed.then i tried uninstalling with rpm n its saying it is not installed on the system...now i dont know if it is installed or not...pleeeeeez help :cry:

Well if you installed with RPM you should remove with RPM. The install data get's stored in a conf file somewhere.

Try typing in
Code:
rpm -e filename

But there's a good chance this wont wont, just because of the way RPM works, try YUM instead.

Code:
yum remove packagename
