My raptor hd has become extinct, was watching youtube in win xp, then i heard GRbrbrrrr , it hung and rebooted.

UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME Error. :upset:

So of course i go thru the usual Chkdsk /r procedures, but it laughed at me saying ' disk has one or more unrecoverable errors' ,

So i try formatting the thing but nothing works, i tried using ' parted magic' , and erased the harddisk, i only ended up in losing everything so, i tried several HD programs but non of them can format or fix the bad clusters in my system.

You know the strange thing is , i did manage to make a small partition and was able to install dos on it, however installing any of the dreaded me/xp/vista won't work. It keeps saying that it cannot format.

What am i supposed to do from here, my gf already said buy a new harddisk :upset:, anything else? Im using this parted magic thing but im not so familiar with unix, is there anything else in this world that can save me
