RESOLVED Problem with XP bootup

827 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  hellraiser357
i cannot get XP to boot.

I am running an AMD Athlon XP 2600+. It will not let me go to choose safe mode or anything. Once the PC post's, it goes to the Windows XP startup screen with the bars at the bottom, and after it completes that screen, the screen goes blue. Completely blue with no messages or anything. When the monitor powers itself down after about 5 minutes, I can either wiggle the mouse, or hit any key on the keyboard, and the monitor will come back on. As far as I know, no changes have been made. The computer has sat in an empty office for about a month and a half, and is setup in my cube just the same way it was in the office.

Any ideas???? Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks--Bobby
