.Net Runtime installation problem

I am trying to install Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 and every time when it is unpacking, showing an error like - "Extracting file failed. It is most likely caused by low memory (low disk space for swapping file) or corrupted cabinet file". I downloaded this installer from Microsoft download page and not corrupted. I am using Windows XP sp2 and having page file of 360 MB on Windows drive (D:\) and space available is 3687 MB.

I need to install this .Net Runtime to use few softwares so please help me.

Try getting it via windows update and see if you experience the same problem.

I tried but couldn't find any!

:sad: Hi! I tried but Automatic update or Windows update not showing me any .Net Framework component for installation. Please guide me how to find it in windows update and how to install.

Microsoft .NET Framework Version 1.1 Redistributable Package


Windows Update Site should detect that you do not have it installed on your system. Click on the History link and see if it shows it has failed

Thanks. It worked. I worked finally. I don't know though how it happened but I downloaded through Windows Update and it worked. Thanks to you all again.
