Invalid system disk Replace the disk,press any key to continue

Hello, I have just recently formatted my freinds laptop. i erased everything. i now need to know how to install windows xp pro on it. I have the xp pro disk. by the way the laptop used to run windows 98 and it is a micron electronics pc. now when i turn on the coputer it just says "Invalid system disk, replace disk press any key to continue" i have been searching the web for a solution hopefully you guys can help me out ---Thanks

welcome to tsf
you need to enter bios by tapping the delete key, just as you turn it on
once in your bios setup, choose the boot option..put cdrom as your first boot choice
save and exit
have your xp cd in the rom as it boots, and it should start the process
