i've pulled it to bits and nothing stands out. i need a sound device driver but i dont' know what one. there is apparently no driver installed for the sound. i'm running an intel pentium 2 processor, OS win98.

It will find all of your hardware specs and more. It's pretty simple to use. Find your card and download the driver from the respictive companies website, or post back with your card specs if you can't find it.

All should be well provided you downloaded the right driver and there aren't any conflicts with other drivers if they are incorrect. Hope all went well. I see from your other posts that you weren't sure about direct X, did you get that sorted out as well?
