I am planning to up grade the Hard Dirve in my ageing Sony Vaio A270 from it's current 80gig to a 250gig. I have all the bit needed but I wanted to know what is the best way to transfer the data.
I have a small home network so I could copy all the files to my server, but the main thing I would like is to be able to keep all my Outlook settings and the current configuration if that is at all possible..... any ideas?

Hi illingworth22!

Welcome to TSF

Are you going to use the Windows XP? so you can keep all the settings by transferring the configuration from the old computer to a new computer, you might need to save the configuration on the server first before you can re-transfer the configuration again after changing the hard drive. You can refer to this page here:

Transfer settings on XP

Regarding the Outlook settings, you can try to import and export the settings too manually from the Outlook itself.
