Hello everyone

I recently ordered a new cpu fan (which I have replaced since bearings shot in old one and making lots of noise), for a AMD Athlon (K7) Socket A processor and now the new fan runs quietly but pc will not boot (the mobo is K7 Triton series GA-7VKMP). If I put the old fan back on windows boots no problem. I put the new fan back on and PC hangs and won't let windows boot. It hangs before it starts looking for boot order.
It says that system health is ok and processor ok but it hangs an will not boot to windows. If I try to get into BIOS nothing happens it still just hangs.
The new fan is A.M.B. Model FD06010 Ball Bearing DC 12volts .28Amps.

Anyone have any ideas.
Thanks for any help with this issue.

Thanks

sounds like the fan is not supported by your motherboard. You can try getting a Molex power adapter converter and plugging the power of the fan into the adapter and using one of the Molex connectors on the PSU. However, your motherboard Bios might report that the fan is not connected. I would find a CPU fan from your motherboards site that is compatible.

Thanks for the help
That's what I figured. I'll contact Tiger direct this morning and tell them that the fan they sent me was not the right one and see what they can do about it. i did specify the motherboard maybe I should have given them the model number of the fan itself. I'll check online to see if I can't find the exact replacement .
Thanks again for the help.
